Job Summary:
Team member responsibilities are comprised of activities both on-campus and
off-campus.
On-Campus
Team members teach one or two courses per semester, which typically includes a Humanities course plus one additional course based upon program needs and team member giftings. Course offerings include Math, Science, Language Arts, Humanities, Art, Music, and P.E.Throughout the day, team members interact with Kurdish students, faculty, and administration, assisting with needs and building friendships. Team members are responsible to:
- Model and communicate the implications of Christian worldview to students through program curriculum and personal relationship.
- Demonstrate competency and creativity in regards to course curriculum and material presentation.
- Model and encourage use of proper English language with students and indigenous faculty.
Off Campus
SGI Team Members engage in a wide variety of off-campus activities geared towards relationship and disciple-building with students, their families, and others throughout the community. Activities include:
- After school art, music, reading programs.
- Book clubs and Bible studies.
- Kurdish language study.
- Outdoor activities (hiking, climbing, picnics, etc).
- Church development activities.
- Visiting with Kurdish families.
